Ones to Watch 2021

It’s 2021. Say it with me - it’s Twenty Freaking Twenty One. We made it out on the other side of 2020. Of course, things won’t magically change just because our clocks turned midnight on December 31st, but I do feel like I’m breathing in a breath of fresh air. And while 2021 hasn’t gotten off to the most promising of starts, I am holding out hope that we are on the up and up. And with that, why not also talk about new artists that are on their up and up? The music industry saw a lot turmoil last year, for sure. But we also saw some amazing projects come to fruition (looking at you Ms. “Two-Album” Swift.) It made me excited to dive into some new artists who also found creativity in the crazy last year and who I think are coming out strong in 2021. 

Below is a playlist of my artists to watch in 2021. This is not an exhaustive list because, well, that would be exhausting to put together all at once, but this playlist will be updated constantly with new artists who I see really coming into their own as we move through whatever this year holds. I tried to incorporate a bit across all genres because, really what even is genre anyway? These artists are ones that have really stuck out to me recently, and I’m excited to see how they continue to evolve through music.

If you’re feeling stressed and unsure, know that you are not alone. Music is my major way of coping with these uncertain times. If you find solace in coming together as a community to listen to some serious talent, then I’m glad you’ve found this page. Keep your head up, keep doing your best, even if your best doesn’t feel good enough (it is.) And if it helps, turn up the music and allow yourself to breathe in the fresh air that’s coming our way.
