MASTERCLASS: DEAF INCLUSION IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

DEAF INCLUSION IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY: HOW TO CREATE INCLUSIVE SPACES FOR DEAF AUDIENCES CREATIVES, AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

Presented by The Cultural Reset and Color of Music Collective

Date and Time: Sunday, March 28th @ 2pm EST | 11am PST

About this Event

To begin a conversation about inclusivity in the music industry is to recognize the experiences of all the communities that have been overlooked by it. For years, accommodations for music lovers, professionals, and creatives within the Deaf community have been treated as an afterthought in the context of live performance, music creation, and music consumption. This begs the question: How can those within the industry strive to make their practices more inclusive of the Deaf community? Recording Artist and ASL interpreter Chris Corsini sits down, alongside fellow artist and ASL interpreter Gaitrie Persaud, to break down the importance of creating a more inclusive space for Deaf peoples in music and how music business professionals can do so respectfully and effectively.
